Fwd: Our Veterans

Keep it moving, please,

It is the VETERAN , not the preacher,
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN , not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN , not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN , not the campus organizer,
Who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN , not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN , not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN ,
Who salutes the Flag,

It is the veteran ,
Who serves under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD,
AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

I don't usually suggest that many emails be forwarded, but I'd be EXTREMELY proud if this one reached as many as possible. We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.
God Bless them all!!!

Amazing how quickly this one "hit the blog-waves"!!!

Might be a shimmer of hope for this world yet. Take it a sliver at a time, eh?

Bruno: Maybe some hope yet. I sure hope so. Even though we are not in Iraq, we are in Afghanistan in a big way. Now if we could get France , Spain and Italy off their asses.

I hope all the people who have given their lives to protect our freedoms will know how much we cared about their sacrifices.

NICE one, Moose. Wish we could have shared this so widely with all the WW2 vets as well.

Lin: Wouldn't that have been nice. They are getting ti be fewer and fewer all the time.

moose, November 11 is national Veteran's Day here in the states. This observation couldn't have come at a better time.
I was thanked by a lady hostess in a casino once, when my service time was mentioned between Wild Thing and me. It was a heart warming experience for me. And thank you for this post.

Cat: November 11 is remembrance day here. Same thing as your Veterans's Day, different name. It was also my dad's birthday. He was born November 11. 1915 at 11:00 A.M. Exactly 3 years before the end of WW1.
