moose, I sure wouldn't take the grand kids to see it. Nor would I buy them the book(s). That's personal preference.
But I would also not censor the availability of either 'cause I have to defend free speech.
Some of my posts have been written in such a manner as if I were attacking universal beliefs, as you well know.
I am waiting for others to argue points with me, but so far only one has tried (and he had a tough time with English).
I looked in the telephone book, because a friend told me about this: There is a listing for "Dial an Atheist". I guess that's in case one gets the feeling he might take up religion?
giggle.

Cat;I would never tell anyone either what they should or should not believe. If this guy wants to write the books and make the movie, he can do that.He should have the guts to come out and say it instead of hiding the message in a children's story or movie
I just reserve the right to say: Be forewarned, this is his message.

Yeah, that's pretty far out there "in left field", alright!

But in all fairness to atheists, and their opinions, it's just "whatever turns your crank" from ME. As a matter of fact, I've known a few professed atheists who are a lot better example of a human being than some of those who are considered to be "true, reborn Christians" of today.

But, as for me, I think I'll stick with the non-denominational Christianity approach for a while yet. Just in case! I'm pretty free-minded too on subjects like this, but everyone has their own "cut-off-point". I like to keep mine right in the middle!

And, no, I don't think this is appropriate for young kids, either. But then again, I guess the same could be said for our denominational churches, and their teachings, as well.

Bruno: I agree that atheists can certainly have their own "belief' system, whatever it is. I just don't think they should not hide it in a kid's movie. Have the balls to come right out and say it, not pretend that this i just another fantasy story.
Some of our denominational churches can be just as bad, so I think it should be up to the parents to bring up their kids the bestthey can. When the kids are old enough they can decide for themselves what they want to believe.
